I read the big ICU book when I was a subintern and it was great. Took me a lot of time though, as it's over a thousand pages. The new version is apparently coming out this month (10/23/2013). The little ICU book is much more succinct which is nice, but it loses some of the nuance and explanation of pathophysiology in exchange for brevity. I read and took notes on "The ICU Book" by Marino so that you don't have to! Hey everyone, Figured I'd share these notes with everyone as it took me a few months to go through this book. I tried to capture a lot of the fun facts and things I didnt know before reading the book. It is absolutely not perfect, I'm sure my interests differ from many ... Regarding other cards in the Acute Heart Failure in the ICU chapter, you'll notice there are cards on beta-blocker management not addressed in Marino's text.
