Heard it drains capacitors and makes it either give you "good" code or disables limp mode if codes are now okay. If any sensor shows a sign of a problem it will put the transmission into limp mode, "second gear". For example, if the RPMs stay high while in gear, I can put it in neutral, pull over, open the hood and push on the throttle.
