I don’t like how fragile crafted spears are, but they work if you carry a few with you. Personally, I use up a garden fork/hunting knife on a stick whenever I find one. I don't usually use stone blades so I don't know if they can be repaired, though you're likely better off just making a new stone blade anyway.
