My suggestion would be to visit the browning site . 1st you should be able to find the date of manufacture and perhaps determine a model . 2nd you can download the manual .read it cover to cover .from there you should be able to disassemble the gun and diagnose the problem .Bought a new Browning A5 in October 2013.
