I wouldn’t put it on par with a bottle of The Macallan 12, but for $27 a bottle, it could easily become my favorite daily dram. Please note that this is NOT the same as the Kirkland Lowland included in the 4-bottle Kirkland Scotch sampler.

I'm a fan of Kirkland everything, and their sherry cask aged Alexander Murray scotches are no exception. My absolute favorite was the Speyside 22 year release a couple years ago. For $50-90, these releases are always a great value for the age statements. I had most of a bottle of the 24 Speyside sitting on my shelf from last year. Kirkland (Costco’s brand name) has been offering up some substantial values in quality single-malt scotch over the last few years. I decided that their track record warranted trying out the American whisky side of the aisle, so I plopped down my $20 for a liter of “Premium Small Batch” Kentucky Straight Bourbon at 7 years of age and an impressive 103 proof.
